Why PIGPROS?
Designed to provide hands-on experience in the field, focusing on practical skills at the pig, producer, and client levels, the PIGPROS program offers training opportunities to help individuals develop and enhance their knowledge, particularly those who lack extensive experience in modern, large-scale commercial pig production systems.
Participants will gain:
Comprehensive Competence: Master current pig production practices, understand industry challenges and opportunities, and stay informed about relevant regulations shaping the industry.
Hands-On Knowledge: Gain a general understanding of daily activities across various phases of the pork production chain, including:
- Boar studs
- Breeding farms
- Nurseries
- Finishers
- Wean-to-finish farms
Analytical Skills: Develop the ability to analyze and evaluate the roles of veterinarians, production personnel, and herdsmen within a modern, dynamic pork production system.
